Tussar is valued for its rich texture and natural deep gold colour. It is obtained from silkworms that do not breed on mulberry trees but breed on trees like Sal, Arjun and Saja, and that is why they are also called 'Wild Silk'. Tussar silk is a lot more textured than any other variety of Silk. The fabric is also cooler than the other varieties and is a lot more porous.
